He first came to prominence on
Kapuso television, when he became the champion of the contest “Spogify ft.
Singing Baes” on GMA7’s “Eat Bulaga” back in 2016. Matt Lozano got attention
then because of his remarkable good looks in spite of, or perhaps more
appropriately enhanced, by his plus-sized body build. Nobody probably expected
him to be cast on the Kapuso network’s ambitious live-action remake of the
super robot anime “Voltes V Legacy,” much less as main character Robert “Big Bert” Armstrong, one of the Voltes pilots. But he was. And while production on “Legacy”
goes on, Lozano had time to become a new endorser for a familiar clothing
brand.
GMA News has it that Bench/ has signed up GMA7 talent Matt Lozano
as a new product endorser. He is one of four the Philippine retail brand has
chosen on a new line of their clothing. Bench/ regulars would know the brand is
a pioneer in the country for celebrity endorsement ever since they released a
TV commercial with Richard Gomez back in 1991. But now they are out to secure
larger territory, sort of, in that their next line features “extended sizes”
for the “big, beautiful” people, like Lozano.
And he is not alone. Lozano is
joined by the likes of his fellow singer and TV host Jed Madela, as well as actresses
(and mom-daughter tandem) Sylvia Sanchez and Gela Atayde. Bench/ is promoting
its new tagline to “Celebrate Every Body,” and all four certainly look good in
their “extended-size” wardrobe from the clothing brand. Photos of Lozano and
the other new endorsers were featured on the official Bench/ Instagram page, to
expected positive reactions. That should also serve to keep Matt Lozano in the
public spotlight even as principal photography for “Voltes V Legacy” continues
ever since May.
