Big gaps in between premieres of
seasons for a TV series can be challenging enough, especially when the reason
for that gap is a production delay brought on by a pandemic. Add a changeover
in platforms from one VOD service to another digital streaming location and it
is a wonder that DC superhero show “Titans” still has a patient following. Due
to COVID-19 eating up much of last year with lockdowns and quarantines,
Berlanti Productions could not start work on season 3 for the series’ new home
on HBO Max until October 2020. Thankfully they manage to keep fans engaged
thanks to some nice behind-the-scenes sneak peeks, much like this.
Comic Book Resources tells us that social media posts by cast
members of former DC Universe series “Titans” has potentially spoiled
developments for season 3 which will premiere on HBO Max. On the show’s
official Twitter page, a video taken by Alan Ritchson (Hank Hall/Hawk) shows
actress Conor Leslie, who portrays Donna Troy/Wonder Girl. The thing is, her
character was supposed to have been killed in the season 2 finale, saving
civilians during the climactic fight between her team and Cadmus, which had
brainwashed Conner the Superman clone (Joshua Orpin).
Now, Leslie appears to be in a
scene, between takes, hinting that she may have survived her death. After all, her
body was taken back to the Amazon homeland of Themyscira by Rachel Roth (Teagan
Croft), ostensibly to attempt to revive her. There is the possibility of her
scene being a flashback, except for another actor on-scene whose character
debuts on season 3: Jay Lycurgo as Tim Drake, the third Robin. Oh, and Leslie
during the video was impressing her cast-mates with a surprisingly good voice
impression of Gollum from “The Lord of the Rings.”

“Titans” was one of the main
original content programs for the DC Universe VOD service, where new and old
media on film and television starring DC superheroes were featured. The first
season arrived in 2018, with a second season following a year earlier. In
August 2020 however, all shows on DC Universe were announced to be transferring
to HBO Max, while the platform itself would re-launch as a subscription service
for digital comic books. While the initial seasons of “Titans” are already
available on HBO Max for streaming, the third season has yet to have a premiere
date. The upcoming season adds newcomers Jay Lycurgo, as above, and Savannah
Welch as former Batgirl Barbara Gordon.
