RANDALL PARK Relieved Confirming His COVID-19 VACCINATION in Vaccine Trial

While COVID-19 was infecting people all over the world and the cautious ones have hunkered down at home while businesses and the overall global economy deteriorated, pharmaceutical firms partnered with universities, laboratories, and many a dedicated group of people to study the disease and ultimately develop the final world in preventive protection: a vaccine. When the first vaccines were completed these medical companies went to work testing those vaccines to check their viability against COVID. Some of the subjects who volunteered for testing are only now speaking up about their involvement. One of them, actor Randall Park, only spoke up now because he needed confirmation.

As Entertainment Weekly tells it, Randall Park has revealed to them Friday last week, January 29 that he had participated in a trial for a COVID-19 vaccine last year. The actor, best known for ABC sitcom “Fresh Off the Boat” and then as FBI Agent Jimmy Woo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stated that his brush with vaccination was not certain at the time that he participated in, because the trial involved dividing the volunteer test subjects into two groups, one that was injected the actual COVID vaccine and another that got a placebo instead.

Park first learned of the vaccine trial in September 2020, having heard it from fellow Asian-American actor Ken Jeong. That particular trial was for Asian candidates and Park, who had been stuck at home at the time to avoid COVID infection, decided to do his part by having the vaccine tested on him. Following the test, he kept quiet because he was unsure if he was injected the vaccine or the placebo, and the testing company only confirmed that he was vaccinated the day before his interview with Entertainment Weekly.

The MCU film “Ant-Man and the Wasp” in 2018 was Randall Park’s debut in the Marvel movie franchise as Jimmy Woo, a supporting role that he would later reprise in the ongoing MCU series on Disney+, “WandaVision” starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. In addition, he is slated to appear on NBC’s “Young Rock” as an aide to Dwayne Johnson (starring as himself) who is running for President of the US in 2032. The new sitcom premieres on February 16.
