It is getting to be a tired old
refrain by this point, but one cannot stress often enough how the arrival of
the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant nationwide community quarantines did a
serious number on the usual television fare. Among the worst hit of the lot are
live studio shows such as noontime variety programs, rendered unable to allow
studio audiences and then the difficulty of following health protocols like
social distancing in the hectic pace of behind-the-scenes TV production activities.
Thankfully some of these shows have been trickling back into the airwaves with
some modified conventions. And now another one makes its return.
The Manila Bulletin would have it that GMA7 is ready to bring back
its weekend noontime comedy and variety block “All-Out Sundays” starting this coming
Sunday, July 12. Much like the other Kapuso programs that have resumed
telecasting such as “Eat Bulaga,” there have been necessary changes to this
particular show. For starters it will be starting a bit later in the day, 12:45
PM. Furthermore, the new “All-Out Sundays” will of course simultaneously
live-stream on all official GMA7 social media pages.
Expected highlights of the return
of “All-Out Sundays: The Stay Home Party” on the 12th will include
the single launch for “Kahit Kailan” by Bianca Umali as well as Aicelle Santos,
Thea Astley, Golden Canedo and Julie Anne San Jose covering the hit songs of
the Side A band on “Four the Win.” Segments will comprise of the “Walang Talent
Show” and the “Mass Dancing” game with 90s music featured, and that is just to
start things off.
The rest of the usual “All-Out
Sundays” game will also be on hand: Alden Richards, Rayver Cruz, Christian
Bautista, Mark Bautista, Gabbi Garcia, Ken Chan, Rita Daniela, Miguel Tanfelix,
Ruru Madrid, Kyline Alcantara, Jak Roberto, Mavy Legaspi, Jeremiah Tiangco, Kim
de Leon, Shayne Sava, and Lexi Gonzales. Paolo Contis is expected to host the “Walang
Talent Show” with Ai Ai de las Alas and Boobai as judges. There will also be
prizes waiting to be given away to lucky viewers on social media, such as the
GMA Affordabox digital receiver.
In all, it looks like GMA7
programming will be taking another step towards a new normalization for entertainment-starved
TV audiences.
