CHRIS HEMSWORTH Doing INSANE Bulking-Up to Portray Wrestler HULK HOGAN

Ask any movie fan who knows Chris Hemsworth what his most iconic role is thus far, and it is a sure thing that Marvel superhero Thor will be the first character name out of their mouth. The Australian actor certainly does cut an awe-inspiring figure as the Asgardian God of Thunder and Avenger, with his buffed-up build in comparison to how he looks in his other roles. But if one thinks his muscular Thor arms are already awesome, then one might need to wait as Hemsworth prepares for his next big role, in a biopic of one of the most famous professional wrestlers of all.

According to PEOPLE, Chris Hemsworth is gearing up to take on what could be his greatest character role yet. He will be portraying Terry Eugene Bollea, better known to wrestling fanatics as Hulk Hogan. The project is reported to be directed by Todd Phllips, who was at the helm of the Warner-DC “Joker” film that starred Joaquin Phoenix last year. It was also late in 2019 that this yet-untitled Hulk Hogan biopic was first announced, said to follow Hogan as he builds up his career to eventually become a pro wrestling superstar and a pillar of the 1980s “wrestling boom.”

In recent interview, Hemsworth revealed that he is undergoing a physical transformation to take on the chiseled muscular physique of the shirt-ripping and super-strong Hogan in his prime as a wrestler. The Thor of the MCU describes his new bodybuilding routine for the role to be “insane,” no ifs or buts. “I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor,” notes Chris, and he would certainly know the magnitude of that. “There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude."

Still Chris Hemsworth cannot help but gush at how much fun he is having while bulking up to become Hulk Hogan. He is certainly looking forward to his period of immersion in the colorful but physically intense and dangerous world of professional wrestling. He is however keeping mum on the rest of the details regarding the film, the story of which is supposed to be still being written. Hogan himself, now 66 years old and a Hall of Famer with longtime promotion WWE, is on board as consultant and executive producer. Bradley Cooper (2018’s “A Star is Born”) is also set to produce the project.
