Teaser for 2020 ABS-CBN Tele-serye “MAKE IT WITH YOU” Released

When word came to ABS-CBN TV star Judy Ann Santos that her indie film and MMFF 2019 entry “Mindanao” has earned her a Best Actress Award at the Cairo International Film Festival recently, she remarked that one reason she could not fly to Egypt for the event, when she was able to go to South Korea during her movie’s showcase at the Busan Film-Fest a few months earlier, was due to her being busy with television work. To be precise, she was finishing what would be the closing episodes of her primetime tele-serye “Starla.” And if “Starla” is ending soon, then Kapamilya viewers have an idea for its possible replacement.

ABS-CBN News reports that the Kapamilya network has revealed the first teaser for a new upcoming tele-serye in their almighty primetime weekday block. This show will mark the TV comeback of the grand Liz-quen tandem of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, and it was known to have been in the works as early as October. This is “Make It with You,” the first teaser of which was put up by ABS-CBN just this Thursday, December 5. The new soap, produced by Star Creatives, will begin overseas, giving Filipino audiences a good look at scenic Croatia.

It has been a great introductory element for many past ABS-CBN soaps to have the stories beginning outside the country, showing the sights and sounds of foreign culture as seen in the eyes of the Filipino characters on the scene. “Make It with You” revisits the concept by giving our first look of its lead stars, Gil as Gabo and Soberano as Billie, as they meet in the streets of presumably the Croatian city of Dubrovnik (used as King’s Landing in HBO’s “Game of Thrones”). Billie is a free-spirited and hardworking OFW who wants to support her family, while Gabo is a traveler wandering the world to find “true happiness.”

The scenes of the two stars walking the streets of that Croatian city with Bread’s 1970 hit song “Make it With You” sets the stage for a magical meeting of love, further reinforced by the series’ tagline of “Choose Love in 2020,” which is when the tele-serye will premiere. It seems likely that it will replace “Starla” on the weekday primetime schedule, seeing as that show looks to be building its storyline to a climax. One can be sure that “Make It with You” will be a worthy addition to Kapamilya evenings, seeing as it is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
