PIOLO and CLAUDINE Co-Starring in Upcoming MOVIE after 15 YEARS

When one has to rattle off a list of names of several major talents on ABS-CBN, one of them would have to be versatile star of TV, film and music, Piolo Pascual himself. After all, he was pretty much a fixture of plenty of Kapamilya-produced primetime tele-seryes and films over the past few years, though the most recent work he had done in that field were two films and a four-month TV drama all in 2018. Aside from showing up at the ABS-CBN Ball this year, Piolo has not been in any recent network productions, though that will soon change.

According to Inquirer.net, Piolo Pascual is due soon to be paired once more with fellow ABS-CBN star Claudine Baretto for an as-yet untitled film project under Star Cinema. This will be the first time the two will star together in the big screen since the 2004 drama “Milan,” or 15 years ago. Piolo said as much when he was speaking to the press during a media conference for this year’s iteration of SunPIOLOgy, a sporting event co-organized by Sun Life Insurance and the actor, one of their brand ambassadors. Pascual shares that this movie was indeed a long time coming.

During his conference interview Piolo notes that the upcoming movie has been in the Star Cinema production vaults, just waiting for when he and Claudine would be ready to tackle it. “It has always been for Clau and I,” says the Kapamilya star. “We waited for 15 years for this, so we’re excited that it’s finally happening.” For the moment, Pascual can share that the plot, most likely a romantic drama, will have a “contemporary” treatment that would be somewhat different from what has been done before on Philippine movies.

Piolo Pascual remarks that he is happy to be working with an actress the caliber of Claudine Barretto for this project, with will explore their characters and how they stay together during the trials of their relationship. “There will be [trying] seasons in their lives that they will have to brave through together, so it’s good that I’ll be working with someone mature like Clau,” he says. Though it sounds like a romantic story already at that point, the actor is not going to give a genre classification for the movie just yet, inviting the fans to wait and see.

In the meantime, Piolo and Sun Life’s SunPIOLOGY Xone will take place in three specific event periods over the next three months. The Sun Life Run distance race is from October 15 to November 15. The Sun Life Cycle race happens next on November 23, and a final race, Sun Life Resolution Run, happens next year on January 18, 2020.
