Samsung may be busy hyping up
their Galaxy family of mobile devices ahead of a major Unpacking event this
coming August, but they are hardly the only tech manufacturers with something
new and nifty that they have not introduced yet as of this time of the year. Apple
has its own arrow to shoot yet before 2019 is out, that being the “iPhone 11”
following the 2018 release of the iPhone XS/Max and XR models. The tech giant
has not made any official pronouncement on the new smartphones for now, but
there have been lots of leaks already coming out.
The Verge has it that new rumors peg Apple to release the next
model in the iPhone series in the fall. Following leaks that discuss the
possible cameras of the iPhone 11, the new speculations focus on other features
and the fact that, like the iPhone XS and friends, there will be three
different variants of the upcoming smartphone. Expected additions include a
possible new “lead haptic” Taptic Engine to replace the gradually obsolescing
3D Touch, and the latest A13 chip. The Lightning connector is already expected,
being a successor.
Previous iPhone 11 rumors
regarding the cameras posit that it will be a triple-cam system, and a
wide-angle camera is said to be slotted in to fit the extra space in the rear
cam setup. Also speculated to be added to the cameras’ capabilities is a “Smart
Frame” option. This enables the cam to catch a wider area around the camera
frame, which would allow adjustment of which part of the image to focus on, and
perhaps even alter the photo’s perspective. At least that has been what the
leaks, courtesy of 9to5Mac has stated
thus far. The front-facing selfie cam reportedly would be improved to capture
120 fps slow-motion.
Aside from these leaked possible specs,
the Apple iPhone 11 will not be entirely groundbreaking due to yet more rumors
that it will carry over the display resolutions from the XS/Max and XR models.
If true, then the chances are good that the device (and its alleged variants)
might soon be revealed anytime from August to September at the optimum. We will
be keeping eyes and ears out for more information, hopefully official ones, as
the year continues rolling along.
