Everything is coming up splendid
for Morissette Amon. Not long ago she was selected by Disney to perform,
alongside Darren Espanto, the local version of “A Whole New World” for the
live-action “Aladdin” remake which premiered in May. She also got to cut her
teeth as a talent show host back in 2017, when she teamed up with famous
American singer Michael Bolton for Fox Network Group Asia’s “Bolt of Talent,”
which even saw a Filipino win against all comers around Southeast Asia.
Apparently that partnership has proven quite effective, because Morissette and
Bolton will be joining forces again for a new upcoming talent competition.
Inquirer.net reports that there is a new regional talent show in
development that will be having Asia’s Phoenix Morissette as co-host to Michael
Bolton. The news was shared on Facebook by Amon’s talent manager David Cosico.
It included photos of Morissette and Bolton on what appears a set for that new talent
show, which according to the FB post is to be tentatively called “Asian Dream”
(#AsianDream). Cosico captioned the images with: “Watch out for this brand new
reality talent show all over Asia with multi-awarded singer-songwriter Michael
Bolton and Asia’s Phoenix, the exceptional Morissette!”
The singing idol herself has been
in Singapore where she had been since May to work on “Asian Dream.” “We have
been keeping this for over two months now,” Morissette said in a phone
interview. “I am so happy. God has been truly faithful to His promises.” It is
not yet known when she will be able to return to the Philippines, as all facets
of the new show’s production remain classified. What is for certain is that
this is only the beginning of Amon’s future commitments, given that Cosico,
from RankOne Productions and Entertainment, has been lining up many projects
for her in Asia, Europe and the US that could see Asia’s Phoenix keeping busy
until around next year.
Given how much Morissette Amon
has to work on lately, it was quite incredible that, shortly after recording “A
Whole New World” with Darren Espanto for the Philippine release of “Aladdin,”
she was able to meet up with composer Alan Menken and Genie actor Will Smith
for a short interview. Morissette and Menken even managed to get a duet of the
first two stanzas and refrain of the famous Disney song. Later, around the
start of June, Amon also turned 23 years old, and for the occasion she partied
with the whole gang on ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime concert show “ASAP.”
