In recent years, followers of
showbiz happenings have been seeing a pattern in terms of stars from other
networks either working on apparent one-off projects with Philippine media
giant ABS-CBN, or in certain cases simply jumping ship to join the network (or
in the preferred “Kapamilya” parlance, to “return” to ABS-CBN). Regine
Velasquez becoming a Kapamilya had been a major blow to GMA 7, about the only
other Filipino network that is equal with the juggernaut. Recently, Kapuso Star
Alden Richards was invited into ABS-CBN HQ following production of “Hello,
Love, Goodbye” alongside Kathryn Bernardo. Not long after this worrying (to
GMA) event, Alden’s “love team” partner will also star in a Kapamilya movie
soon.
ABS-CBN News tells us that Black Sheep, a production studio under ABS-CBN
Films, has announced production of “Isa Pa with Feelings” under the direction
of Prime Cruz. The lead stars for this project are Kapamilya star Carlo Aquino
and Maine Mendoza, better known as “Yaya Dub” who with Alden Richards formed
the phenomenally successful AlDub pair that has been a focal part of GMA7’s noontime
variety show “Eat Bulaga.” Black Sheep announced the bombshell during their
first story conference this Thursday, which was also the first time Maine and
Carlo would meet for this project.

For Carlo Aquino, this will be
his second film to be done under the Black Sheep production label, having
already starred in “Exes Baggage” last year alongside Angelica Panganiban. This
is the first time Aquino will be in tandem with Mendoza just as it is the first
time the latter will be taking part in a major production under the ABS-CBN
umbrella. The story conference for “Isa Pa With Feeling” was light on details
regarding the film’s plot, and is also partly overshadowed by the ramifications
of both halves of a GMA7 power couple working with Kapamilya stars in
succession.
It should be recalled that Alden
Richards was taken through a tour of ABS-CBN headquarters in Quezon City just
this Tuesday, June 25, with his “Hello, Love, Goodbye” costar Kathryn Bernardo
serving as guide. Though not the first time he has set foot in the place, Alden
described this visit as “surreal,” considering that he had lunch with many of
the Kapamilya network’s higher-ups including managing editor Oivia M. Lamasan,
Carlo Katigbak and Mark Lopez. Richards’ first movie with Bernardo, directed by
Cathy Garcia-Molina, will premiere this coming July 31.
