MAINE MENDOZA LIPSTICK Shade from MAC COSMETICS Revealed at Last

It has been over three years now since she came into prominence, first as an internet sensation with her archetype-defining dub-smash compilation on Facebook, and then a TV personality on noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga!” Her impromptu love team pairing with Alden Richards in 2015 catapulted her into surprise superstardom, and there was a time in 2017 when she was the most tweeted Filipino celebrity in the world. Indeed, Maine Mendoza has come far from the hype to establish herself as actress, social advocate and even entrepreneur. On that note, her partnership with a cosmetics brand has borne fruit recently.
CNN Philippines has it that MAC Cosmetics has at last deemed its collaborative effort with Maine Mendoza to be ready for the public. As of this Wednesday, September 19, their new limited edition lipstick shade “@mainecdm”, named after the Queen of Dub-Smash, is unveiled to all via a social media post on Instagram. MAC Cosmetics commented that Mendoza drew inspiration for their new shade from “retro fantasies”, resulting in a vibrant color best described as “muted peachy beige with a matte finish”. The Instagram update even included a photo of the actress herself wearing the lipstick named in her honor.
Other updates by MAC Cosmetics make the bold claim that @mainecdm is guaranteed by Maine to be a shade that is a multipurpose fit “for all Filipina skin tones” and “appropriate for any occasion”. Bear in mind that MAC Cosmetics is an international brand based on Ontario, Canada (with branches here in the Philippines), but has proven here to have a good grasp on what does look best on a Filipina face. As befits its limited edition nature, @mainecdm will come in an exclusive kiss-print packaging, personally designed by Mendoza.
Word that Maine Mendoza and MAC Cosmetics were teaming up to produce some custom cosmetics have been buzzing about since the beginning of this year, 2018. Progress must have been very good indeed if the final product is ready to go this September, and speaks great things for the collaboration. Maine after all is the first Filipina of any note to have made a partnership with the brand, which has a long storied history of its own since 1984, and includes luminaries such as Madonna, Mariah Carey, Naomi Campbell and the late Princes Diana as heavyweight unsolicited celebrity endorsers. Maine Mendoza herself identifies as a longtime user of MAC Cosmetics.
MAC and Maine’s @mainecdm lipstick shade will first become available on the Lazada online shopping platform this coming September 21. SM Megamall will follow suit on September 22, before final nationwide availability starting September 23.
