2015 First Half A Win In Sales For MITSUBISHI PHILIPPINES

The first half of 2016 has come and gone, and now Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation can afford to pat itself on the back for achieving the highest six-month sales they have ever had since beginning operations, firmly entrenching its current position as the second leading auto maker in the country according to

MMPC scored record-breaking sales of 30,372 automobile units from January to June, an impressive growth of 21 percent from its figures for the same period last 2015. To focus on the month of June, 5,771 vehicles were sold at the highest monthly figure in MMPC history. On individual automobile types, passenger cars enjoyed a 26 percent jump from last year’s statistics with 10,083 delivered to satisfied drivers. As expected the most sought after Mitsubishi passenger cars for the first half were the Mirage and its G4 variant.

Also enjoying positive sales are the L300 and Adventure – both of which are made locally – that have sold 19,421 units for light commercial vehicles (LCV) at a 16.8 percent increase in six-month sales compared to 2015, with 3,629 units sold in June climbing up to 21 percent. Not to be outdone is the 54.7 percent boost in Mitsubishi truck sales over the same period the year prior with 854 units sold, and a 50 percent improvement in June sales compared to May.

Of course, the darling of MMPC’s current vehicle offerings is the hotcake-selling Mitsubishi Montero Sport, whose latest incarnation rolled out in the middle of January 2016 and has since hit 4,549 in sales, 1,146 of these in June alone for a 46 percent upswing.

With its powerful six-month performance snapping up 18 percent of the Philippine market share and a stable national economy in general, MMPC is confident enough to see a continuous rise in sales for the latter half of the year, all for the company’s ultimate objective to meet a 2016 unit sales quota of over 65,000. Marketing First Vice President Froilan Dytianquin shares this optimistic view, which MMPC intends to fulfill by the introduction of upgrades to Mitsubishi’s top selling car models while also introducing finance plans, options and promos to bring Mitsubishi vehicles within easy reach of Filipino customers. This is exemplified in the Adventure and L300 being the preferred vehicle to buy for small business owners and Overseas Filipino Workers.

Also in the company’s immediate agenda is the improvement of its after-sales support and customer service capabilities, to better serve the highest customer satisfaction to all Mitsubishi buyers.
