James Wolk to star in CBS adaptation of James Patterson ZOO

CBS releases the official trailer of its adaptation of James Patterson ZOO, a suspense event series stars James WolkZoo is based on the novel that was released in 2012 and became a New York Times Best Seller with more than 4 million copies sold and has been translated into 6 languages.

James Wolk 30, who I adore on 'The Crazy Ones' and 'Mad Men'  gets a starring role and this time not an AD show. Billy Burke, Kristen Connolly, Nora Arnezeder and Nonso Anozie are also in the series as his co-stars. James plays Jackson Oz, a renegade Zoologist who spends his days managing safaris in the wilds of Africa. He started seeing strange behavior of animals leading to ferocious attacks on human all over the world. Oz thrust his way to stem the pandemic before everyone else dies.

James Wolk received critical acclaim for his incredible performance on 'Lone Star' with 'Political Animals', 'Shameless' and 'Happy Endings' as his Television Credits. He just finished production of 2 independent films, 'This is Happening' and 'The Experiment'. He was seen on the films 'You Again', 'For a Good Time Call' and 'There's Always Woodstock'.

ZOO TV Series was announced last November and started pre-production January of 2015. It will start airing on June 30, Tuesday, 9/8c on CBS with 13 episodes per season. Netflix will then digitally distribute the series after the airing of the first season. I just hope it will not have the same fate of Battle Creek stars Josh Duhamel, which CBS cancelled just after 1 season.

ZOO was shot in New Orleans and will be directed by Brad Anderson with Josh Appelbaum, Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg and Andre Namec as executive producers. The series will be distributed worldwide by CBS Studios International.

Congrats Jimmy on this new show! I better have a vodka with ton of ice and fresh limes while watching your new series!
