How would you like staying in a 5-storey and 5-star quality hotel with a cherry blossoms view of its own? How about staying at the same hotel with one whole floor available only for you? That's what you call exclusive and unique accommodation! Bijuu Hotel in Kyoto offers only 2 rooms, Room 301, the whole of 3rd floor and room 501, the whole of 5th floor.
Bijuu Hotel is located in Shijo area. Coming from major cities like Nagoya, Tokyo or Osaka, get off at Kyoto Central, then take the train to Shijo Station and take another train to Kawaramachi Station. From there, just walk for 1 minute and you'll see Bijuu Hotel.
At the ground floor of the hotel is kiln cafe, the hotel's primary entrance and lobby. So while waiting for the hotel's guest relation officer to pick you up, you can relax and try Japan's authentic coffee and pastries.
The deluxe room on the 3rd floor has 2 beds and a carpeted floor area of 64 square meters. It has a large closet with bathrobes and sleeping wears. The kitchen has a fridge, gas range, microwave oven, coffee maker and dining set. The room's wall is covered with shikkui, a traditional Japanese plaster. It also has a wood furniture, a sofa, a working table and a huge cabinet filled with Japanese literature books. The bathroom has a nice tub, large mirror and a sensor auto flash toilet bowl.
The designer suite room occupies the whole of the fifth floor and has a stoned flooring with magnificent view of the Higashiyama mountains and the Kamo river. The room has a beautiful interior and is decorated with brick wall, ikebana (japanese flower arrangement) and selected art pieces from different parts of the world. To complete the experience, they also put a classic soft couch in the living room and added a wooden spa amenities and a stone sauna in the bathroom.
Bijuu Hotel costs a little bit higher during Spring from March to May. During off peak, you can get it at around $500 per night. If you reserve for three nights or more, or when you reserve 2 months before your visit, they can offer a special rate. With the experience and treatment you will get, I'm pretty sure you are getting the most value for your dollar.
The hotel is just a walking distance to famous attractions Kenninji Temple, Gion Corner, Kamo River, Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park, Kiyomizu-dera temple, Hokan-ji Temple and the Kodaiji Temple. It is also located in the most lively part of Kyoto, the Shijo street where all the great Japanese restaurants and pubs are. There's also a McDonald's and a 24x7 convenience store in front of the hotel.
My honest rating for Bijuu Hotel would be a 5/5. I felt more than at home. It was just so pleasant to stay at an extremely spacious, clean and modern pad with access to anything you would need. I didn't even wanna go out and just wanted to enjoy everything I had in the room. The staff and the hotel's director were so accommodating and friendly. I felt so special and very much appreciated. They were so polite, soft-spoken and went the extra mile just to make sure my stay would be an experience to remember and cherish.
After staying at Bijuu Hotel, I couldn't think of a better place to be at when in Kyoto.
