Five years have passed since gaming resort Resorts World Manila started its operation in the Philippines.
Travellers International Hotel Group will allocate $650 Million to double the gaming and hotel room capacity by 2017 as competitors starts to rise in Aseana City.
Resorts World Chief operating officer, Stephen Reilly said that the entry of new competitors—like Solaire Resorts and Casino, Bloomberry Resort Corp.’s and the soon City of Dreams Manila would be beneficial for the overall tourism and gaming industry in the Philippines.
Reilly also said that there are about 18,000 patrons who flock to RWM on an average day and to as much as 32,000 to 34,000 during busy days.
During Resorts World's anniversary event 'Give Me 5' at the Genting Club Roon, Reilly also said the advent of Solaire and City of Dreams can send a louder message to the rest of the world that great things are happening in the Philippines.
Resorts World helps the Department of Tourism in promoting the the integrated gaming industry in the country.
To celebrate its 5 years of milestone, an anniversary show 'Rockin @ 5' will be held on Aug. 28 called at the Newport Mall including a stage play of Jose Rizal’s “Noli Me Tangere: The Opera.” from Sept. 11 to 18, and ending it with everyone's favorite, a Chocolate Festival from Sept. 19 to 21.
