Julie Ann San Jose

Here are 2 shots of Julie Ann San Jose taken today January 31, 2014 at the Veranza Mall in Gensan. I never thought that my twitter would get multiple interactions because of a single photo I tweeted. She is indeed GMA7's most influential female celebrity online! I think she deserves to be featured on this magazine! I find her nice, sweet, accommodating and lovely! I'll try to set-up a one on one sit down 30 minute video interview with her this February!

Martin del Rosario

When I found out that Martin del Rosario was going to attend the Kulintangtang Festival in one of the municipalities of South Cotabato, I immediately contacted ALV Talent Agency (who now handles Martin’s career) and requested from them a one on one exclusive interview with Martin.

I travelled for more than an hour, from one city to another just to have this sit-down video interview. It’s way long over-due. I’ve been wanting to have this opportunity ever since I attended the gala screening of his first movie with Cinema One Originals ‘Dagim’ where he won two acting awards; Breakthrough Perfomance by an Actor at the 8th Golden Screen Awards and  New Movie Actor of the Year at the 27th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.

Martin Miguel, 21, is one of the most underrated stars of ABS-CBN. Though he has proven his brilliance and passion in acting, he is still struggling with the needed spotlight and project. Despite that, he never gave a half-hearted portrayal. With very expressive eyes, he delivered every performance in the past with enough grit and strength. He had a total of 20 shows in ABS-CBN with remarkable performances on ‘Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin’ with Coco Martin, ‘Pintada’ with Denise Laurel and the recent ‘Juan dela Cruz’ with Shaina Magdayao. He is also one of the young celebrities with the most ‘Maalala Mo Kaya’ episode. Martin also got a nomination from FAMAS for his performance on ‘Amorosa’ and good reviews in his 2 most recent movies, “The Healing’ and ‘Bride for Rent’.

Martin is setting a good example to his co-actors for being able to balance his work and studies. He graduated salutatorian in grade school and second honor in highschool at Lourdes School in Quezon City. Currently he is taking BA Broadcast Communication at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.

In an interview with Ricky Lo on Philippine Star, Martin revealed that he lost his innocence when he was 15 with someone same age as him. I find his answer very honest and sexy!

Controversies about Martin del Rosario’s sexuality has been the talk of social media for the last few months. I saw an article on Yahoo about the rumors effect to his family especially to his mother. It’s very hurting and disturbing. His assurance was the only defense he has and I’m backing that up.

It is just so unfair for this young and nice boy to be harassed with such assumption. Even when I got the chance to actually ask him about it, I didn’t. Not only because he has my love and support but also because I respect him and I know he isn’t. Our online society is full of lies, insecurities and hatred. Why concentrate on breaking hearts and souls when you can be a reason for others to smile.

Martin is a good boy and an exceptional actor. He still has a lot to offer! When I asked him about anything we don't know about him yet, He answered It's up for us to find out!

Oh well, this 20-Minute video will definitely give you the answers. I won’t make this any longer coz I’m very much excited to share to you my conversation with the award winning and humble actor Martin del Rosario. You will love him more after watching!

Sponge Cola

Sponge Cola releases new album Ultrablessed

Diamond-recording band Sponge Cola’s newest album Ultrablessed reflects the band’s fun journey as musicians. Composed of 10 new songs, the album gives people a glimpse of the more than a decade of friendship between the members of the band.

Ultrablessed will be launched this January 31, 8 p.m., at the Eastwood Central Plaza. A bonus DVD of their last concert Maximum Capacity is also included in the album.

Composed of Yael on vocals, Armo on lead guitar, Gosh on bass and TedMark on drums, Sponge Cola considers this album as a celebration of years of blessings.

“We have been chillin’, doing the things we love to do all these years,” says Yael. “So, looking back, we are not just really blessed, but we are Ultrablessed.”

According to Yael, the album contains 10 new fun songs, but quickly clarified that, “basically, all the tracks in the album are ‘fun’ songs, but not necessarily happy. Some songs are sad, but they are fun.”

Yael further explains that the album has that fun vibe, which is a product of the band members’ current state of mind.

The album’s first single Anting-Anting, which also features Gloc-9 and Denise Barbacena, talks about empowerment among victims of bullying. Its music video is set to premiere on MYX in a few days.

Ultrablessed also features the band’s collaboration with Yeng Constantino. Aptly called +63, the area code of the phillipines, the song talks about long distance love, a familiar theme in everyday Filipino life.

Miss Saigon

A GALA CONCERT IN SUPPORT OF THE PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES
IN THE WAKE OF TYPHOON YOLANDA

On January 29 & 30, 2014, the creators of the international musical sensations Les Misérables and Miss Saigon will present a special concert entitled “Do You Hear the People Sing?” celebrating their work at the Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) in Resorts World Manila (RWM) to raise funds to offer humanitarian relief and assist the rebuilding efforts after parts of the Philippines were left devastated in the wake of Typhoon Yolanda.

The concerts, which will raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Philippines, will celebrate the works of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, including musical numbers from  Les Misérables, Miss Saigon, La Révolution Française, Martin Guerre and The Pirate Queen.  Supported by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra and a 100-member choir, conducted by musical director Gerard Salonga, the concert is headlined by some of the world’s leading musical theater performers.

Lea Salonga, the Tony Award winning Filipina performer who rose to international stardom when she was cast in the original production of Miss Saigon, will headline the concert alongside Australian theater star David Harris (Miss Saigon, Wicked, Legally Blonde) and Marie Zamora (Barnum, Kiss Me Kate), the acclaimed French soprano who was the original Cosette in the Paris production of Les Misérables. Salonga, Harris and Zamora featured in the recent Asia Pacific Premiere of Do You Hear The People Sing? in China.

In celebration of the long association between the Philippine theater community and the work of Boublil and Schönberg, the concert evening will feature special guests and a large ensemble made up of performers who have appeared in Miss Saigon throughout the world.  The entire company is donating their time and services pro-bono. In addition to these unique performances, there will be an online auction of memorabilia and gala night tickets (including hotel accommodation) for the opening nights of Les Misérables (Broadway and Melbourne, Australia); Miss Saigon (London).

Along with Bouberg Productions, Enda Markey and the performers who waived their talent fees, “Do You Hear the People Sing?” is the latest effort of RWM in a series of fundraisers to help in the relief and rebuilding phase following the destruction brought about by the typhoon—the first being the “1tayo” relief operation in partnership with other players in the industry and the second being the “Kami Naman Ang Taya” benefit concert held at the NPAT last December 3. Funds raised from this latest production and auction will go towards the rebuilding programs for the survivors of the typhoon. The event hopes to raise funds with the goal of building 200 homes in areas ravaged by Typhoon Yolanda through Habitat for Humanity Philippines.

Reflecting on their long association with the Philippines, composer Claude-Michel Schönberg said, “The Philippines gave me the voices of Miss Saigon, my daughter Margot and the joy of seeing Filipino babies adopted all around the world for nearly two decades already from my Manila orphanage, Sun and Moon.”

Alain Boublil added “Creating Miss Saigon with those numerous talented Filipino artists was the answer to a prayer. These two concerts bring this extraordinary adventure back to life and a chance for us to modestly contribute to those lives that were shattered. Let's hear the people sing!”

“Do You Hear the People Sing?” will feature the music and lyrics of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, creators of Les Misérables and Miss Saigon. It will run from January 29 to 30, 8pm at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Manila, Philippines. Ticket prices are as follows: Patron - PHP25,000; VIP - PHP15,000; Premiere - PHP9,200; Balcony Center - PHP6,700; Balcony L/R and Premiere B - PHP4,200 and are now available at all TicketWorld outlets and at the RWM box office.

For those who cannot attend the concert, donations may be made via the production’s website www.thepeoplesing.ph. To know more on social media, check out Twitter @ThePeopleSing and Facebook.com/thepeoplesing.

Do You Hear The People Sing? is the only symphonic concert of their work that has been authorized (and created) by Boublil & Schönberg.  The concerts have played to enormous acclaim in major concert halls throughout the United States and the Asia Pacific tour of the show recently commenced in China.

Do You Hear The People Sing? is produced in Manila by Bouberg Productions and Resorts World Manila in association with Australian producer Enda Markey.   Direction is by Andrew Pole with design by James Browne, lighting design by Christopher Page and sound design by Thomas Brickhill.

JM De Guzman

Finally! JM De Guzman’s second album is now available in all record bars for only P250.

Prior to its release in the market, I was able to preview the songs from this album titled ‘Tensionado’. My personal favorites are ‘Terrified’ (duet with Acoustic Diva Suy) &  ‘Have I Told You Lately’ by Rod Stewart. His soothing voice, relax singing style and current emotional state (heartbroken) indeed added more drama and depth to the songs.

Release under Ivory Music & Video, ‘Tensionado’ is a collection of JM renditions of his favorite songs featuring “Lost In Space” by Lighthouse Family, “Don’t Give Up On Us” by David Soul and Tensionado by Soapdish.  Also a collaboration with singer Jaq Dionisio of Kiss Jane in the hit Itchyworms song “Akin Ka Na Lang”, which is the album’s carrier single.

‘Tensionado’ Album has 8 tracks, 6 revivals and 2 original compositions. ‘Warrior’ an acoustic ballad about searching for one’s self in this endless journey about love and also ‘Stupidest’ about unrequited love.

The carrier single 'Akin Ka Na Lang' is already available for download here at MyMusicStore while the rest of the songs before February ends.

I first met JM on January of 2011 at Starbucks ABS-CBN. He joined me and my friends and there we had a little conversation about his show at that time ‘Precious Heart Romances Alyna’.

JM has always been sweet, romantic, soft-spoken and accommodating. I have experienced how he is as a celebrity and more to how as a person. Very passionate in everything; from singing to acting and even when it comes to loving. He knows his role as real prince to girls out there. A real gentleman who takes good care of every woman he is with, from co-actors  to his fans.

I’m sure many of you would agree with me that other than being incredibly good as an actor & singer, He is also undeniably telegenic. He can even make anyone say yes to him just by his facial gestures.

Here is an exclusive one on one interview with JM De Guzman!

American Idol 13

American Idol Season 13 premiere bags huge ratings for Star World!

I can spend the whole day just by watching Keith Urban giving feedback on American Idol. Other than being incredibly handsome and cool with authentic blue eyes, he has so much to say about Music and smoothly gives his comments to the hopefuls. Earlier's episode was a revelation of how strict and  true he can be. It pisses him off whenever a contestant focuses on the idea of going to Hollywood instead of listening to judges criticism and recommendation.

I just have so much respect for him as a singer, as a musician and more so as a person. Seeing his genuine attitude whenever someone shows appreciation to his music is just beyond amazing. The words of gratitude he uses are just so adorable.

Jennifer Lopez is the real deal on American Idol! She's an inspiration to a lot of singers. I like the way she says No to hopefuls. Very delicate and sensitive without making them stop to still chase for their dreams.

Harry Connick Jr. brings new flavor to the show. With his wit and experience as a performer both on stage and on TV, it gives Idol more credibility in choosing who really has the voice and appeal to become the next singing champion. I just have to commend the way he called out the disrespect of a contestant to Jennifer Lopez during the audition. It was smartly delivered that the contestant became so apolegetic.

Bride For Rent

‘Amazing, Surprising and Exciting’! These were the 3 powerful words Kim Chiu said to Xian Lim on their latest movie #BrideForRent under Star Cinema and directed by Mae Cruz.

Amazing - Although the film doesn't have any new ingredient and plot was predictable, I still find the script and delivery funny and fulfilling. This rom-com is a lot better than Kim and Xian’s Blockbuster Movie #BakitHindiKaCrushNgCrushMo. Kim Chiu was sweet and hilarious! She has proven herself to be a versatile actress effective and bankable enough to lead a drama or comedy film. Xian on the other hand is just more than a handsome boy; very talented and dedicated to his craft. He is typically more than alright on this film and his chemistry with Kim is undeniably giddy. The fact that they leveled-up their performances from their last hit is enough reason to consider the film amazing!

Surprising – I was surprised that I caught myself almost getting a photo & video of Xian from the big screen! He was so telegenic that I didn’t care if I’ll violate Republic Act 10088, Anti-Camcording Law.  There were a lot of moments really that showed how handsome and attractive he was! Kim’s humor style sticks and was consistent for the entirety of the film. She is indeed this generation's Rom-Com Princess! #BrideForRent is surprisingly touching comedy.

Exciting - #BrideForRent is exciting because it constantly held the audience's attention with simple and witty jokes. Kim was just effortlessly good in throwing funny lines while Xian was on the right timing to back those up! Empoy and Pilita Corales are also commendable on this film.

I’m giving the movie a 4/5 rating. More than the average!

I expected it to be just cute and plain due to the known chemistry of KIMXI. But I was surprised! I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. It has plenty of happy and memorable moments.

#BrideForRent is a completely entertaining and a respectable rom-com. Hilarious movie that I wouldn’t mind recommending it to friends, watching it again or buying a DVD.

Now showing in all theaters nationwide!

Anne Curtis is the new Dyesebel

“It’s another dream come true. Sobra lang akong speechless kasi ang laking project nito. Sinasabi ko noon dream role ko Dyesebel. So ito na, 2014, great way to start the year, ” This was what Anne Curtis said during the launch of ABS-CBN's newest Teleserye.

During the middle of last year, when ABS announced they got the franchise of Mars Ravelo's Masterpiece, I had a survey on this site and on twitter on who would the madlang people want to become the new Dyesebel. KC Concepcion, Kim Chiu, Julia Montes, Erich Gonzales, Kathryn Bernardo, Maja Salvador and Jessy Mendiola were some of the choices other than Anne who had favorable votes.

Anne Curtis is no stranger to swimming on TV since she once played Dyosa Agua as the goddess of the sea on her previous Teleserye 'Dyosa', still with ABS-CBN.

According to TV Patrol, Anne was selected based on the result of their market research of who people really wanted to see to have that magical tail and will be a good model to the young public.

Dyesebel will have Sam Milby and Gerald Anderson as her leading men. Joining the cast are also veteran actors, Gabby Concepcion, Eula Valdez, Zsazsa Padilla and Ai-Ai delas Alas. It will be directed by Don Cuaresma and Francis Pasion.

Dyesebel will start swimming this Summer.
