NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL REVEALS THE MIND’S POWER WITH BRAIN GAMES

Premiering on September 24, 2013, Tuesday at 9 PM is National Geographic Channel’s new series Brain Games, a show that explores the human mind’s powers of perception as well as the skills that it affords us. Using mind-boggling experiments, brainteasers, optical illusions and hard science, Brain Games shows viewers how the human brain works and how their lives are affected as a result.

NGC will be showing a Brain Games special on September 24 for its premiere. In the premiere episode, viewers are lured into the world of sleight of hand, of advanced card play and card magic, with a focus on the oldest card trick in the world, the Three Card Monte. Card performers will be revealing the secrets behind their tricks as well as exploring the psychology that allows people to be tricked. Also, the connection between human beings and primates will be highlighted, giving us a better understanding of our social interactions and dynamics, and how we perceive our relationships because we are hard-wired in a certain way.

Viewers of the show will learn that seeing isn’t necessarily believing when they are presented with optical illusions that, when revealed, will illustrate how our brains help us build our ideas of reality. Brain Games will also examine the powers of persuasion and how marketers are trained to communicate with us in such ways that our brains can’t help responding to or be convinced.

Brain Games will leave no fold of gray matter unturned, no neuron untouched in its quest to help viewers understand how and why the brain works. With the help of experts in neuroscience and mind trickery, the show discusses and explains many aspects of thinking that affect our lives, from issues of trust and sanity to why we make certain decisions and how men and women’s brains work differently.

NGC has partnered with @IGersManila to promote Brain Games through the Instagram account’s #9PMHabit daily contest. The promo will run from September 24 to October 22 during the showing of Brain Games on NGC. @IGersManila will be making calls for photo entries based on weekly ad daily themes determined by NGC, and submissions must be made between 9 PM and 11 PM, with the following tags: #9PMHabit, @IGersManila, @NatGeoChannelsPH, #BrainGamesPH and the hashtag for the theme of the day. Four winners will be chosen daily, with winning photos to be posted on @IGersManila at 9 AM on the following day. Winners will receive premium items from NGC besides the bragging rights of having their photos seen by the more than 21,000 followers of @IGersManila.

Explore the human mind and discover its awesome power by catching Brain Games on National Geographic Channel every Tuesday at 9 PM, beginning on September 24.

For the Benefit of those who missed this Exclusive 15-Minute Video Interview of Edward Mendez; I'm posting it again! Enjoy!

While I was at the 'Star Magic Gives Back' concert in McKinley, I received a Go Signal from Edward Mendez that I can visit him on the set of his newest movie with Star Cinema's MMFF entry 'One More Try' somewhere in QC. So when I got the chance at around 10 pm, half way through the concert, I immediately went to see him. This sit down interview has been long overdue since the many times I attempted just didn't work. It was either our schedules won’t meet or location was just so far.

Catch him very soon on his latest movie with Ai-Ai delas Alas and Marian Rivera 'Kung Fu Divas'.

I’m actually a little frustrated that my Exclusive Interview with Star Magic Hunk and Pinoy Fear Factor runner-up Manuel Chua got corrupted. It took a lot of troubleshooting, software downloads, restart, using different PCs just to the make the file work. Nevertheless, I’m still thankful that I got half of the interview recovered. Perhaps than can be enough for now and I’ll just try to arrange another interview with him.

I was very lucky that Derek Ramsay sat beside me during the Bloggers Conference of Viva Films newest movie ‘A Secret Affair’. I grabbed the chance right away of interviewing him for the Morgan Show. I know my time was limited so I focused only with the questions I think he’ll be more than happy to answer quickly. Much to my delight, Derek was so game and I guess had fun with the questions. Nothing really intriguing. I’ll try to schedule another interview in a better venue with better audio. But For now, Hope this will excite you and make you fall in love with him more.

Another Filipino made it to sing on Ellen De Generes show today.

The two boys stayed at Sheraton Hotel in Los Angeles and got good comments for a heart warming performance and speaking good English.

Richard Poon

Richard Poon sings for elderlies at benefit show

Jazz sensation Richard Poon pleased audiences with a mix of classic and contemporary hits at “Growing Old With You”, a concert held at Celebrity Sports Plaza in Diliman, Quezon City for the benefit of the senior citizens of Golden Acres Haven for the Elderly.

The “big band crooner” known for his jazzed rendition of Filipino classic songs such as “Kahit Maputi na Ang Buhok Ko” also sang his own version of Carla Rae Jepsen’s “Call me Maybe” and One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” to the surprise and delight of the crowd. Selections like Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” and Adam Sandler’s “Grow Old With You” helped set the tone for the event.

“I usually over prepare,” said Poon, when asked about his song choices. “The band knows me well enough that I never follow what I initially write.” Poon said his song line-up changes in mid-performance depending on the reaction he gets from the crowd. “If I don’t, it’s going to be boring.”

The concert was organized by Outbox Media Production Agency, a full-service events management and multimedia production company, as part of its seventh anniversary and the birthday of its founder and managing director, Rossel Velasco-Taberna.

Other companies that answered the call of the fundraising event are Foton Motors Philippines, Puregold, Uratex Foam, Bounty Fresh Chicken, Asia Refreshments Corporation, Waterfront Hotels and Casino, Ferna Corporation, Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, The Blounge, Hot Shot Studio, Sogo Chain of Hotels, and Tunying’s Bread.

Velasco-Taberna said funds raised by the concert will be used for the medication and financial support of the residents of Golden Acres in its newly built facility in Barangay Sampaloc in Tanay, Rizal that takes care of over 140 abandoned, neglected, and homeless senior citizens.

His latest album under Universal Records with the carrier single 'Truly' just reached the gold record status.

Paolo Onesa

I have always been a fan of Atenista Paolo Onesa ever since he first sang on the blind audition of #TheVoicePH. Last saturday, he has proven me and everyone that he deserves to be in the final 2 of #TeamBamboo with his version of Adele's Oscar Winning Song #SkyFall. Garnering 81.24% of the voting public and 60% from Bamboo, Paolo got a total of 142% defeating Lee Grane's 58%. That's even more than a landslide victory!

Few hours after the competition, Paolo Onesa 's #SkyFall ranked #1 on the Most Downloaded song on iTunes defeating Katy Perry's 'Roar, Patti Austin's 'If I Believed', 'All Behind Us Now' and 'Say You Love Me', Coldplay's Atlas, Miley Cyrus 'We Can't Stop', Pink's 'Just Give Me A Reason', Bruno Mars 'Treasures' and Lady Gaga's Applause.

Congrats Pao for a job well done and for being the only Filipino on that list along side with Music Superstars! I'm definitely sure win or lose You'll get a recording deal and a promising career ahead of you other than having me all the way to support you! (",)

Globe Gcash

These are screenshots of How Much you will pay when you buy a Kenneth Cole watch online. Kenneth Cole Watches are usually around P6,000-P13,000. At times, stores can give you 10-20% discount. That's like around P1,000 off.

This first photo is from Dillards website showing you the different KC models with corresponding Philippine Prices. The amount you see doesn't include yet the taxes and shipping, which is most likely an additional of around P1,000-P2,000 if ship directly to Philippines. (Click Photo for larger view)

This second photo is an example of check-out of Kenneth Cole Men's Black Calf Skin Quartz Watch in Peso at Overstock with corresponding tax and shipping fee. I used Overstock as a comparison because they do ship items to the Philippines and their website automatically converts Dollars to Peso. (Click Photo for larger view)

Brace yourselves for the third photo. This will make you love online shopping to bits especially doing it at the #1 online store in the world; AMAZON - Brought to you by Globe Gcash, American Express and MyShoppingBox. You can get the same Kenneth Cole Watch shown above at half the price and will be delivered to your doorstep.
